Responsibilities

Paid KUED Digital Media Robert K. Avery Internship Available for 2017-2018

KUED, Utah’s premiere public television station, is seeking a dedicated student for an
intensive internship experience in its Digital Media Department. This is a compensated
internship, and the student will work 19 hours per week.

The internship will be primarily focused on KUED DM’s new online project, The Modern
Gardener. The position includes opportunities to produce, and assist in the production of, video, written, and photographic content, both in the field and at KUED’s facilities.

Depending on the intern’s experience and skills, she or he could also assist with other online
projects, such as Contact in the Community and VERVE. Ultimately, duties will depend on the needs of KUED.

Demonstrated experience, skills, and/or academic knowledge pertaining to the production of video is required. Experience with DSLR equipment, non-linear editing systems, audio equipment, and social media is preferred. Successful candidates will be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere and Photoshop. Familiarity with, and a strong interest in, public media is preferred.

Students should be juniors or seniors, although highly experienced individuals of lower class standing may be considered. Students can be from any major. Communication, Film and
Media Arts, and Entertainment Arts and Engineering students are particularly encouraged to apply, as are individuals with experience in Student Media.
