Job Summary

Under general supervision, the AV Technician/Courier provides technical audiovisual support and equipment delivery services to faculty, professionals and management.
Located in Salt Lake City, in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, the University of Utah is the flagship institution of the State of Utah’s system of higher education and a member of the PAC-12 Conference. University Information Technology, the central IT service provider for campus, reports to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for many of the University of Utah’s most critical common IT resources including the campus network; the Campus Information Services (CIS) portal; UMail, telephone, and online collaboration services; high performance and research computing; information security; teaching and learning technologies; software licensing; and a host of other systems and applications. Responsibilities

-Works as a courier delivering audiovisual equipment to University campus classrooms and departments.
-Provides customer service and technical support to clients in person and on the phone.
-Schedules equipment rental for campus classes and events.
-Maintains, cleans and organizes equipment and equipment storage room.
-Administrative duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of computer operations experience or equivalency required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Previous customer service experience is preferred.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

-Customer service experience, good driving record, troubleshooting skills and work history of reliability preferred.
-Audio-visual technical aptitude, knowledge of media-production, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. are preferred.
-Applicant must be over 18 years of age.
