Job Summary

Serves as primary video editor for UOnline Course videos. Provides multi-media support for TLT instructional design team related to video production, graphic design, and editing documentation. As needed, film instructors in TLT production studio. Perform a variety of post-production tasks such as DVD duplication and video transferring.

Responsibilities

1. Serves as primary video editor for Uonline course videos with occasional studio video production duties.
2. Assists with technology based course development, design and delivery techniques, visual aid development, media and technology selections.
3. Researches new technologies, innovations, and production practices and evaluate the potential values.
4. Edits hard copy faculty manuscripts for face-to-face courses and electronic content for online courses.
5. Coordinates with other members of TLT’s Instructional Design and Development team and assists as assigned.
6. Develops effective working relationships with faculty and staff.
7. Provides customer service and assists faculty and students with class delivery system and web applications. Notifies appropriate technical groups of errors or equipment malfunctions requiring more advanced troubleshooting and analysis.
8. Provides patron reception duties including answering phones, answering basic service questions and assisting students, faculty, and staff of Teaching & Learning Technologies services. This position also assists in the operation and maintains the integrity of course testing events with large groups of students. Closely monitors and enforces exam policies.
9. Assists with various video post-production tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of computer operations experience or equivalency required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Previous customer service experience is preferred.

Preferences

Non-linear editing and video production experience preferred. Additional experience with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects is a plus. Strong interests in graphic design or animation also a plus.
First or second year undergraduate student with some experience in online education; excellence in technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with Windows, Mac, tablets and mobile devices; 4) reading and editing skills; and proof- 5) ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
Demonstration of human relations and effective communication skills. Previous customer service experience is preferred.
