Job Summary

Part-time lead camera operator and administrative support for the Video Services division in Teaching & Learning Technologies.

Located in Salt Lake City, in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, the University of Utah is the flagship institution of the State of Utah’s system of higher education and a member of the PAC-12 Conference. University Information Technology, the central IT service provider for campus, reports to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for many of the University of Utah’s most critical common IT resources including the campus network; the Campus Information Services (CIS) portal; UMail, telephone, and online collaboration services; high performance and research computing; information security; teaching and learning technologies; software licensing; and a host of other systems and applications. Responsibilities

• Films lectures, presentations, traditional courses and special projects using digital and analog acquisition methods.
• Works as a technical facilitator for distance learning courses and interactive video conferences originating on the University of Utah campus.
• Provides customer services to faculty, students and staff.
• Serves as lead camera operator, including: assisting with training of new camera operators, performing equipment maintenance and inventory, and providing field support.
• Assists with administrative duties such as video event scheduling, billing and event preparation.
• Assists with non-linear video editing, video compression, format transfers, video streaming and related clerical duties.
• Assists with video quality control and file management.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of computer operations experience or equivalency required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Previous customer service experience is preferred.

Preferences

Video capture, video production, editing and customer service experience preferred.
