Job Summary

The Identity & Access Management (IAM) team in the Office of Information Security seeks a highly motivated and skilled Senior IAM Systems Engineer.

The candidate should demonstrate advanced knowledge of system administration in the identity & access management domain, covering Directory Services Administration and Management (OpenDJ, OpenLDAP) and Web Access Management Services like CAS (SSO: AuthN/AuthZ), Shibboleth/ADFSbased federation and Azure.

The position reports to the Associate Director of Identity & Access Management within the Information Security Office, which is part of University Information Technology (UIT).

The Senior IAM Systems Engineer will be responsible for daily IAM systems management functions, and provide ongoing engineering and project support into the IAM Program.
The role focuses on engineering, governance and architecture aspects of Web Access Management Services for on-prem web applications and cloud applications.

Primary responsibilities includes but not limited to:
• Level 2 or Level 3 support to existing production WAM services for the IAM Program
• Assist in building and developing governance around WAM solutions and service offerings to meet the ongoing demand of emerging technologies and cloud application integrations
• Primary Engineering resource for WAM tools

This position will be a peer on a team, focused on supporting mission-critical user identity lifecycle-management, authentication and authorization needs for all of University of Utah.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty, or equivalency; and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Department Preferred Experience:

• 4-6 years of experience in:
o developing, implementing and/or architecting Web Access Management tools.
o any of the following areas within Web Access Management domain scope:
 Single Sign-On (CAS or similar)
 2FA or Multifactor Authentication
 Identity Federation (Shibboleth or similar)
 Role Based Access or Attribute based Access models
 Cloud Application Sign On (Office365/AzureAD or similar experience)

• Ability to understand complex business and information technology management processes
