Job Summary

This position contributes to the Starbucks success by assisting the store manager in executing store operations. This job assists and supervises a team of store partners to create and maintain the Starbucks experience for our customers. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with The University of Utah and Starbucks principles. Supervises employees or processes by coordinating and overseeing work assignments within department. Ensures relevant policies, procedures and laws are implemented. Establishes quality standards and maintains cleanliness of facility in accordance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:
• Display a customer first attitude with training.
• Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager.
• Develops positive relationships with team by understanding customer needs and the needs of the community in which the store is located.
• Supports store manager in implementing company programs by working directly with shift team to execute action plans that meet operational and organization objectives.
• Act as a coach and mentor to part-time staff by assessing performance, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance. Giving effective employment decisions to the store manager.
• In conjunction with store manager is expected to meet minimum sales goals in excess of one million dollars.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in a related field, with two of those years working as a supervisor, or equivalency; knowledge of related trade or department specific equipment, systems and procedures. Demonstrated organizational, human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

• At least two years retail experience
• At least one year within a restaurant environment
• Experience directing/training the work of others.
• The ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment
• Able to work independently when necessary
• Highly motivated with consistent work ethic
• Previous knowledge of Starbucks operations
• Strong leadership skills.
